Sleep Sedation Dentistry
Dr. Friedman and his team have received extensive training in sedation dentistry. Only 1% of the dentists in the country are actually qualified in this conscious sedation dentistry, and patients come from all over Southern California to San Diego to be treated using this comfortable, safe and effective system. Patients are given a small dose of medication under their tongue 1 hour before their scheduled dental procedure. The patient then relaxes in our dim lit dental suite for about 40 mins. The patient is constantly monitored with a computerized pulse oximeter, which measures heart rate, blood pressure and oxygen saturation. We also have a reversal agent on hand that reverses the effect of the sedation medicine in less than 30 seconds. We have treated several patients with this conscious sedation technique and find it very comforting for our dental phobia patients are even for patients that need extensive treatment. Dental Laser Technology
Dr. Friedman will always be abreast of the latest in dental equipment and comfort in dentistry. The Biolase Waterlase Laser is used to perform a wide range of dental procedures on teeth, gums, and bone more comfortably. Typically, our Waterlase laser allows us to use fewer shots and less anesthesia or in most cases, no shots. With laser dentistry, we can recontour gum tissue, prepare teeth for fillings, treat gum disease, and much more!
Digital Imaging
Many of our patients wonder how they would look with a smile make-over, whiter teeth, or maybe closing some spaces between their teeth. Well at Mod Squad Dental you do not have to wonder. Dr. Friedman offers complimentary digital imaging. A couple digital photos are taken here in our photo studio, and with our digital imaging software, within minutes patients are able to see themselves with a new smile and even have the ability to email them to family and friends. 
This is an example of digital imaging using the latest in smile imaging software. This patient visited our dental home wanting to improve her smile. Within minutes she was able to view and walk out with this photo to share with family and friends.
Digital Radiographs
All radio-graphs (x-rays) are of digital quality. This form of x-rays allow Dr. Friedman and the patient visual access within seconds of taking the image. Because the digital x-ray exposure is shorter than taking conventional x-rays, the amount of x-ray radiation is reduced by up to 90 percent. Digital radiography is an advanced technology that speeds treatment and helps us make the most accurate and efficient diagnosis of your dental condition.
